In continuous operation since l903, Christ’s Home is a charitable 501(c)(3) organization founded as a non-denominational Christian ministry serving children and seniors.

Established in 1903 by Dr. Albert Oetinger and Katharine Krausslach, Christ’s Home was founded as a faith based non-denominational organization caring for children in Philadelphia. Christ’s Home moved to Warminster, Bucks County, Pennsylvania in 1907. The Warminster campus currently operates three group homes for children ages 4-16, an Infant & Toddler program, a Teen Mother/Baby program, and a Transitional Living Program for teenage boys.

In 1936, a branch of Christ’s Home for Children opened in Paradise, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Originally serving preschool age children, the Paradise campus currently operates two group homes for children ages newborn-16 and a Transitional Living Program for teenage girls. Our second Teen Mother/Baby house opened on our Paradise Campus in October 2015.

Christ’s Home purchased St. Stephen’s Farm in Warminster and opened the Retirement Community in 1923 as a modest home to meet the needs of aging adults in the area. Over the years several small expansions took place to add additional independent living apartments, personal care, and skilled nursing care. As the organization moved into the 21st Century, Christ’s Home undertook its most ambitious project ever to expand the Retirement Community across the complete 84-acre campus. Shepherd’s Crossing, a unique cottage community, opened to the first residents in the fall of 2008. This expansion included 125 cottages, 24 new independent living apartments, and a new 90-room Healthcare Center. This new Healthcare Center included the addition of Memory Care services, further advancing the continuum of care for our residents.

Today, Christ’s Home continues the original vision of the founders to follow the biblical mandate to “care for the orphans and the widows.” We are focused on continuing to serve children in both Warminster and Paradise, PA – and to serve senior adults in Warminster. We continue to seek new ways to provide quality services and improve the ongoing services we provide. In addition, we also support two overseas orphanages in Kenya and India. The needs are significant, but we know that our God is fully sufficient to meet the needs.
