In the past decade, we’ve been privileged to serve over 1,000 children in Eastern Pennsylvania, offering a beacon of hope and a caring home during their most challenging times. HistoryChrist’s Home is a charitable 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1903 by Dr. Albert Oetinger and Katharine Krausslach. It was founded as a Christian based non-denominational organization caring for children in Philadelphia. Just four years later, in 1907, Christ’s Home moved to Warminster, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. In 1936, a branch of Christ’s Home for Children opened in Paradise, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Today, Christ’s Home offers a Primary Placement Program (group homes for children), a Pregnant and Parenting Teens program, and a Transitional Living Program for teen boys and girls.

Frequently Asked QuestionsWhere do the children go after their stay at Christ's Home?Between 50 to 60 percent return to their family of origin. Family reunification is a key focus for both the courts and for Christ’s Home. When family reunification is not possible, children are often placed with foster parents. Some are ultimately adopted by their foster parents or others. For teenagers who live with us up to 18, their next step may be college, enlistment in the armed services or vocational training. How many children does Christ's Home serve annually?Christ’s Home serves between 100 and 150 children annually. How do children come to Christ's Home?For the most part, children come to us by court order through the oversight of the Children, Youth and Family Services departments in a County. We currently serve six different counties in Eastern Pennsylvania. How many children are in each cottage? Each cottage averages 6 – 8 children in residence. Some of our cottages can house up to 10.
