Our History
In 1923, Christ’s Home purchased St. Stephen’s Farm in Warminster and opened the Retirement Community. The hope was to create a modest home to meet the needs of aging adults in the area. Over the years, several small expansions took place to add additional independent living apartments, personal care, and skilled nursing care. As Christ’s Home moved into the 21st century, it undertook its most ambitious project ever. Christ’s Home expanded the Retirement Community across the 84-acre Warminster campus. Shepherd’s Crossing, a unique senior cottage community, opened to the first residents in the fall of 2008. This expansion included 125 cottages, 24 new independent living apartments, and a new 90-room Healthcare Center. This new Healthcare Center included the addition of Memory Care services, further advancing the continuum of care for our residents. In 2024, we added an additional 84,000 sq.ft. expanded living space including living 30 new independent living apartments, new restaurant, community + exercise rooms, and terrace for all our residents to enjoy.
